Caerlord
and Caerlady
The Caerlord and Lady are
the backbone of the Caer's inner workings. They make decisions regarding
diplomacy, such as managing relations with other Caers and with
settlements on Catena Island, and mete promotions or demotions as
necessary. They take a major part in all ceremonies, and while it is the
Fleet Leaders who are the real military directors, they are held greatly
responsible for the safety of the Caer and the island as a whole.

Fleet Leader
The fleet leader is the commander of his
or her fleet, leading the other fighters in training and in combat. They
control all aspects of their fleet's strategy, and thus are responsible
for the safety of their soldiers. fleet leaders also make up part of the
Caer's judicial committee. This position is highly honored and is a very
heavy responsibility. They report directly to the Caerlord and Lady.

Fleet Second
The fleet second is the
assistant of the fleet leader. Often, they are stuck with menial duties
such as paperwork, but they also assist their leader in strategy, and
when the fleet must break into smaller groups, they command their
division of fighters. They make up a part of the Caer's judicial
committee, and report to their respective fleet leader.

Fledgling
Trainer
Fledgling trainers are in charge of making sure the newly-bonded
youngsters are shaped into fine soldiers. It is a highly demanding
position that requires great self-discipline and natural leadership.
They make up part of the Caer's judicial committee, and report directly to the Caerlord and
Lady.

Bond Searcher
The Caer depends on its bond searchers to seek out the next
generation of dragoners. Hence, they are respected for their unique
abilities, and the duty of keeping all the bonders in line falls on
them. They report to the fledgling trainers.

Medic
Medics are trained to treat dragons and
humans who become injured or fall ill. There is always at least one
on-duty in the infirmary at all times, and during an ant attack, all are
prepared to treat the inevitable casualties.

Fighter
The rank of fighter includes all fleet
positions other than second and leader. The majority of the Caer's
dragons are those who defend the human populace from such dangers as
Ants and rampage plants. They report to their respective fleet leader
and seconds.

Senior
Fledgling
Senior fledglings are only slightly above their junior fellows in
rank. Classes become of the utmost importance, as it is at this stage
when they will learn the principles of fighting. By this
stage, the bonded pair has successfully flown and is ready to learn
complex flight maneuvers, as well as breathing fire. Graduation occurs when the dragons reach three
years of age.

Junior
Fledgling
Junior fledglings are the
lowest-ranked of the bonded Caer personnel. Their duty, first and
foremost, is to the care of their new bond, and they are expected to
attend their daily fledgling classes. They do not fly, let alone fight,
and remain at the junior rank until the dragon is one and a half years
old and the pair have proven their flying ability.
