Houses

When the first settlers arrived on Catena Island, the different families bound together in large settlements called Houses. Each House contains many Clans, or family lineages (it is these that designate a person's surname), and depending on their location, each has a number of different exports and contributions to the island as a whole.

According to location, each House is protected by (and pays a tax of both money and goods to) either Caer Catena or one of its outposts (Mt. Altair in the south or Ausus Point in the north). The tax depends mostly on the number of Houses watched over by each fighting force and the economic status of each House.
